Patio Umbrellas Provide Protection from Elements
Patio umbrellas are a much needed accessory for your patio or garden. They make the backyard appear cheerful and welcoming, as well as allowing you, your friends and family, to get away from the harsh glare of the sun and into the cooler shade of the umbrella. Also a little drizzle may ruin everything left sitting on the table when using an uncovered patio, however, having a patio umbrella can protect the table and anything underneath it from getting wet or burned by the sun.
Patio umbrellas are great for those outdoor patio brunches on Sunday morning. While its nice to have a place to suntan on your patio, it’s also good to have an area where you can escape the heat during the day, especially if you’re entertaining. They can also be fascinating even during the evenings, after the sun has settled down. One thing you could do is add a string of the small bulbed Christmas tree lights with white bulbs to the under side of the umbrella for enjoying some romantic moments with your spouse and a glass of wine.
They have a combination of functional and decorative elements. Though their primary purpose is to provide shade, they come in a wide variety of shapes, colors, materials, and have become one of the best ways to add a splash of rich colorful character and style to your back yard, or patio areas.
Patio umbrellas are usually made of canvas, which is water resistant, with the stem made of wood or aluminum. In my opinion wood offers a classier look than those made of plain or brushed aluminum and can be found to match the wood of the rest of your outdoor and patio furniture. Most outdoor patio tables are designed with a hole in the center of the top through which an umbrella can be inserted. 
When a person buys outdoor and patio furniture in a prepackaged set, the table and chairs will all match in color and style and most manufacturers include the patio umbrella as part of the package. Sometimes though, even though they are displayed with the rest of the patio set, they are occasionally not included as part of the set so be careful. Patio umbrellas are often also sold separately for those who have a good patio set already but need an umbrella or need a new one.
The size and shape of the umbrellas vary with many of the stems made to tilt to help keep the late afternoon sun off of those seated at the table. They also need stands to keep them in an upright position, especially when opened, and to prevent it from slipping sideways and crashing down on the heads of those seated at the table. These weighted stands can also be fastened to the umbrellas to prevent it from blowing away in a stiff breeze.
Outdoor and patio umbrellas have become increasingly popular in recent years as people have found new and useful applications for them. They are often considered the centerpiece of good patio sets and can compliment any outdoor setting.

I love the way you explained those patio umbrellas and wish I had your way with words.
My husband and I have our own business and we also sell Patio Umbrellas, but ours have Thatch roofs, specifically the African Thatch Reed. We also sell Rustic Bars that are perfect for the outdoors. It’s actually a personal Bar that can be used as a Juice Bar, Wet Bar, Alcohol Bar or simply a place for people to meet. I like the using our umbrellas over our patio table. It works great though it is showing some wear so I think I will have to replace it soon. I’m looking at the ones at Outdoor Cedars. Good price.
